01 / Name and usage
RAMURAN has been the institutional name since constitution. The 1998 correspondence sheets used a serif wordmark and the designation Research Trust. During the expansion of program work, correspondence moved to a simpler technical heading with the issuing office and file reference given greater prominence. These were changes of working form, not new institutions.
02 / The current mark
The three-bar mark was adopted for institutional correspondence in 2013. Two bars carry the full height; the third remains shorter. The approved usage note associates the incomplete third element with a record whose limits remain visible. It does not encode a count of programs, a facility designation, or a classification level. The mark accompanies the name; it does not certify an experimental result.
03 / Earlier material
Do not replace an old letterhead with the current mark when preparing an extract. Preserve the issuing name and source date. Typeset transcriptions may use the current reading format if their status is clear. They must not be presented as photographs of the original sheet. Marginal office stamps and receipt references are not additional signatures.
04 / Correspondence practice
Received, examined, and accepted describe different acts and require separate entries. An institution may acknowledge a document without endorsing its contents. The recipient of correspondence is an office unless the matter specifically belongs to a named appointment. Work must remain addressable after that appointment ends.
